Redwing Heritage 101
THE POSTMAN OXFORD
The Postman Oxford was first built by Red Wing in 1954. The shoe was standard issue, government-approved footwear for mail carriers and police officers for decades. Look no further than Norman Rockwell’s iconic “The Postman” painting to see how ubiquitous these shoes were. Today, the shoe is still American-made with fully re-soleable Goodyear welt construction, with a Black Cushion Crepe Wedge out-sole and “sweat-proof” leather insole for comfort that lasts all day.
